At a technology demonstration held at the Shanghai Tianma Circuit in late July, Pirelli Cyber™ tire technology was installed on a Lotus Emeya sports car modified for testing, allowing engineers from major Chinese automakers to test and experience the technology on site.
Actual tests show that by comparing the Cyber™ tire function enabled and disabled, the system can significantly shorten the vehicle's braking distance. Specifically, the test used Lotus Emeya's original P Zero R and P Zero tires in different configurations: By providing the vehicle with accurate information about the tires fitted, the electronic control systems, including the ABS, can be optimized to fully utilize the grip performance of the tires used.
