On May 28th, the Indonesian factory of Sailun Group witnessed a historic moment - the first high-performance radial tire for passenger vehicles successfully rolled off the production line.
With this, the fourth overseas base of Sailun in Southeast Asia has officially started production, marking another crucial step forward in SAILUN Group's globalization strategy.
The factory in Indonesia is an important move
As one of the largest economies in Southeast Asia, Indonesia's automotive industry is developing rapidly and the demand for tires is strong.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's abundant natural rubber resources and convenient port conditions also provide Sailun with high-quality raw material guarantees and efficient logistics support.
The first tire to come off the production line this time embodies the latest R&D technology of Sailun Group and has been optimized for the hot and rainy climate in Southeast Asia. It also features safety and energy efficiency.
The tires adopt a low rolling resistance tread formula, precisely meeting the fuel economy requirements of Indonesia. The innovative groove drainage design eliminates the safety hazards of driving during the rainy season. The wet grip is increased by 15%. In addition, the high-speed stability meets the AA-level standard of the EU labeling law.
By then, after the factory reaches its full production capacity, it will have the capacity to produce 3.6 million radial tires and 37,000 tons of off-road tires annually. Moreover, it will promote local industrial upgrading and economic development through deepening local integration.
The factory in Mexico is about to go into production
As the first Chinese tire enterprise to "go global" and build factories overseas, in recent years, Sailun has continuously advanced its global layout and successively established intelligent production bases in Vietnam, Cambodia and other places.
In May and July 2024, the groundbreaking ceremonies for Sailun's factories in Mexico and Indonesia were held respectively.
In early 2025, the expansion project of Cambodia's annual production capacity of 1.65 million all-steel tires began construction and is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2025.
The Indonesian factory that has been put into operation this time has an annual production capacity of 3.6 million radial tires and 37,000 tons of off-road tires, while the Mexican factory has an annual production capacity of 6 million pcr tires.
According to Sailun, based on the current construction progress, it is expected that the factory in Mexico will also be officially put into operation in the first half of this year.
The financial report shows that in 2024, Sailun Tyre's tire production and sales reached 74.8111 million and 72.1558 million respectively, both setting new historical highs. Its operating income and net profit maintained a relatively good growth.
In 2024, the company achieved operating revenue of 31.802 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 22.42%. The net profit was 4.063 billion yuan, increasing by 31.42% year-on-year.
